DERMAPLANING – SKIN BLADING/EPIDERMAL LEVELING
Dermaplaning is one of my favourite types of “manual exfoliation,” also known as Blading or Epidermal Leveling of the skin. Dermaplaning is an excellent treatment for revitalizing skin, by removing peach fuzz and the outermost layers of dead skin cells leaving the skin immediately smooth, supple and vibrant.
Many people refer to dermaplaning as the same as shaving. It is in the sense that it removes peach fuzz, but it takes off many more layers of skin than a standard razor does. A concern many ladies have when deciding whether to try dermaplaning is whether their hair will grow back thicker and darker. This is false. A woman’s facial hair can only change with hormone shifts, certain medications, and certain illnesses. After a dermaplaning treatment, hair grows back in around 3 weeks later exactly the way it was prior to blading.
LEARN MORE ABOUT DERMAPLANING
Dermaplaning (blading) is another non-traumatic method of skin rejuvenation. It has become increasingly popular because its one of the skin treatments you can do that has an immediate result without pain or downtime, and you can’t beat that!
Dermaplaning may also be used to enhance the absorption of peels, oxygen, masks, and at-home skincare products. Caution, if you have current acne or are prone to acne, dermaplaning will not be a good treatment choice. Dermaplaning could result in “cutting” or “nicking” of the acne lesion causing scabs and acne to spread. Blading can cause temporary inflammation in the skin potentially promoting a breakout in currently clear, but acne prone skin.
